According to the South Wales Argus newspaper, the Gwent Record Office is to relocate to a new family history centre in an old steelworks in Ebbw Vale.
Linda and I did some research last year at the existing record office in Cwmbran, which is hidden away in the basement of Torfaen County Hall. The people were very friendly and helpful, but we weren’t too impressed with the building.
