Ian Hartas writes that the main UKBMD web site has been updated:
The main UKBMD web site has been updated – or more accurately, totally rewritten! The individual county BMD sites have not been updated though… later this year, perhaps.
The reasons for the update are :
- to speed up page downloads;
- to improve accessibilty for the visually impaired;
- to allow me to more easily add new features;
- etc…
We have tested this new version on as many browser versions as we possibly can – details below – but would welcome feedback if anyone sees problems.
The most obvious change is the addition of a new button to list the Events at which UKBMD will be represented. More events will be added to this list within a week or two.
The new version has been tested on :
Linux :
- Firefox
- Konqueror
Windows :
- Internet Explorer 6 and 7
- Safari 3
- Opera 9
- Flock
- Google Chrome
I’m aware that some people still use Internet Explorer 5, but you are strongly advised to upgrade as this version is full of security holes that could allow viruses into your system. I recommend Firefox or Chrome.
