Over a million burial and cremation records from the London Borough of Islington are to be made available online.
The Deceased Online website is adding the following records from Islington and Camden Cemetery Services to its database:
Approximately 1,000,000 burial and 54,000 cremation register records are expected to be made available over a period, with a mixture of register scans and computerised records. Maps showing the exact locations of graves and digital photographs of headstones are also expected to be added. Initially approximately 70,000 records have been placed online from Hampstead and Trent Park cemeteries. The other cemeteries are Islington and St Pancras, which share a large site with around 900,000 burials. The Hampstead and St Pancras cemeteries are associated with Camden Council. The Trent Park and Islington cemeteries, and the Islington Crematorium, are associated with Islington Council.
Trent Park Cemetery
Approximately 4,200 burial register records are available, with a mixture of register scans and computerised records.
Consecrated Burials numbered 1 to 3,019, dated 13 May 1960 to 6 September 2000, are available as Burial register scans at 8 entries per scanned page.
Unconsecrated Burials numbered 1 to 481 dated 22 October 1960 to 20 November 1987, are available as Burial register scans at 8 entries per scanned page. From November 1987, Unconsecrated Burials were recorded in the Consecrated Burials register, and should be identifiable by the grave reference, where the section begins with an “N”, whereas the Consecrated Burials are in graves with sections beginning with a “C”.
Combined Burials numbered 3,501 onwards, from 13 September 2000, are available only as fully computerised records, i.e. there are no associated register scans.

For the purposes of the UK Data Protection Act, the names and addresses of funeral applicants and grave owners for cremations during the last 100 years have been withheld from publication.
