Images of the parish registers of Monmouthshire, in Wales, have been made available online.
FamilySearch has added images of the parish registers of the historic county of Monmouthshire (plus the parishes of Brynmawr and Llanelli in Breconshire, and the parishes of Llanedern and Rhydri in Glamorgan) to its Record Search pilot. You can browse the images, but you can’t search them yet.

Thanks for the heads-up on this – off to check out my JOHN family now.
Unfortunately, the Monmouthshire parish registers have disappeared from the Record Search pilot. Lets hope their absence is only temporary.

As the Monmouthshire parish registers haven’t yet reappeared on the Record Search pilot site, I thought I’d mention that you can view Mike John’s transcripts of them on his free website at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~monfamilies/monprts.htm.

The Monmouthshire parish registers (along with those of the 12 other historic Welsh counties) are available at Find My Past.
