Hi, I am trying to work out my paternal side of the family. These are the surnames:
1892 – my Dad – C.I. Lebron-Christian died 7-08-1985 in Puerto Rico
1865 – Grandmother C. Christian Orellana married to J.M. Lebron-Maldonado…
I am trying to find the names of my maternal ancestry. My grandfather (Auslin Elsworth Henning) was born on Grand Cayman, his father was Sterling Rivers Henning (also born on Grand Cayman) and his father was John Hooper Henning from Greenock, Greenwich, Scotland. I would like to know the names of those preceding John Hooper Henning (who his parents were etc.).
Hi Robert
Greenock and Greenwich are two different places. Greenock is in Scotland near Glasgow, while Greenwich is in England and is part of Greater London. I’ve taken a look at the Scottish records and found very few people named Henning – certainly none near Greenock. There are some Hennings in Greenwich, but I’m afraid I couldn’t find a John Hooper Henning.
Best regards
Alan
Thanks Alan for the help. Greenwich is indeed a city in England but it is also a county (or whatever they are called in the U.K.) in Scotland and Greenock is there. That’s the way it was explained to me and thus far, I have found nothing to refute it. Thanks again…
Greenock is in Renfrewshire (the county name). There is no Greenwich in Scotland that I know of.
Thank you redetin…I stand corrected.
I’m trying to find records of a marriage between Heloise Marie Serisier and Count de Moro in Cuba between 1835-1845.
Hi, I am trying to find my paternal side. My grandfather, Thomas Daniel Means came to New York City in the early 20′s and bore my father, Thomas Daniel Means, Jr. He returned to the British, West Indies and I am trying to find out which island.
