The baptism, marriage and burial registers of the non-conformist churches of the Greater London area are now accessible online.
Ancestry.co.uk has made available the registers of more than 300 churches, ranging from the Acton Green Wesleyan Methodist Hall to the Zion Chapel, Mitcham. The baptism, marriage and burial entries have been digitised from the records of London Metropolitan Archives.
Denominations covered include Baptist, Congregational, Elim Pentecostal, Methodist (Primitive and Wesleyan), Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist, Society of Friends (‘Quakers’) and the United Reformed Church. In addition, the collection includes the records of the Central Gurdwara (Sikh Temple), German Evangelical Church, Hamburg Lutheran Church, London Wall Scotch Church and New Bunhill Fields Burial Ground.
