The digitised images of the 1911 census of Ireland will soon be joined by those of the 1901 census.
From Thursday 3 June 2010, you should be able to view and download images from the 1901 census of Ireland free of charge.
Transcriptions of the Irish 1901 census for some counties are already available online. The Leitrim-Roscommon Genealogy website has searchable transcriptions of all of Counties Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo, 25% of County Wexford and small parts of Counties Galway and Westmeath. You’ll find transcriptions of County Clare at the Clare County Library site (which has a large number of other databases too), part of the City of Dublin (Rotunda ward) at Irish Origins, and for some other counties at the Irish Family History Foundation’s Online Record Search site.

The Irish 1901 census is now available.
