The Power in the Elbow
Founding editor Christine Kidney has 20 years experience in publishing as a commissioning editor and as a freelance writer and magazine editor. Christine has worked at Thames and Hudson, Picador, Macmillan and Weidenfeld & Nicolson. She edited The Book Magazine, a consumer publication distributed through UK independent bookshops.
Writing it Down
Christine says: “Elbow Books provides an opportunity to take family history research a step further, to learn to write creatively and to pass down a narrative to future generations. Our aim is to make the writer the link in the story. We can help with anything from the first sentence to editing the final draft.
Making Books
“We help writers navigate their way through the swampy waters of publishing. We can offer anything from simply hosting a PDF of a manuscript that family members and friends can download to getting a physical or virtual book into the market, with a well-oiled global sales and distribution engine behind us.
