Essex has one of the longest-established record offices in England.
This year, it will celebrate 75 years of preserving the county’s past by holding an Open Day. The varied programme includes behind-the-scenes tours, displays, archive films and an opportunity to ask questions at the research helpdesk.
So, if you live in or near Essex or have family connections with the county, why not go along to the Record Office at Chelmsford on Saturday 14 September. The event runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Admission is free and more details can be found at this link.
