Another Irish directory has been made available online.
Subscription website British Origins has just added another directory. Published in Manchester and London, Slater’s Royal National and Commerical Directory of Ireland 1870 includes almost 1,200 pages of text and more than 120,000 names.
The directory is sub-divided into provinces and further sub-divided into counties, with entire sections given over to the cities of Belfast and Dublin. Each county and city is introduced with a brief social and political history as well as topographical and geographical descriptions.
