Wharncliffe Publishing, who previously published Ancestors magazine in conjunction with The National Archives, have now launced a new magazine.
The 76-page magazine, Your Family History, is edited by Laura Berry, an archive researcher who co-ordinated the genealogical team for the fourth British series of Who Do You Think You Are and the second Irish series.
According to editor-in-chief Nick Barratt, Your Family History aims to “bridge the gap between genealogy and your own unique personal heritage.” The first issue has an article by him on the leaders of the three main political parties, and includes pieces on “How to Trace Aristocratic Ancestors” by Berry and an investigation by Barratt of a possible German invasion of Suffolk in 1940.
The magazine looks good, but whether it’ll be able to compete successfully against the five other UK family history magazines (Family Tree, Family History Monthly, Practical Family History, Your Family Tree and Who Do You Think You Are) is another matter.
