Hearth Tax records for the historic English county of Westmorland for 1670 and 1674-75 are now available online.
The Centre for Hearth Tax Research has announced that an e-publication of the Westmorland Hearth Tax volume is now available to view and download on the Hearth Tax Online website. This e-publication includes complete and fully-searchable transcripts of documents for 1670 and 1674-5, statistical tables, a series of full-colour maps, and a full historical introduction including illustrations.
The next release of material, planned for early 2012, will include a surname index and statistical analysis (including maps) for the county of Essex (1670) and the full transcript and statistical analysis for London and Middlesex (1666).
Already available at the site are Hearth Tax records for County Durham, Kent, Surrey and the East, West and North Ridings of Yorkshire.
