Your Family History magazine launches Archive of the Year Award for 2012.
Your Family History has sent the following information:
“Your Family History magazine would like to inform you about their Archive of the Year Award 2012. The aim of the competition is to help raise awareness of the plight of our local services and we would like to get your archive involved.
“The magazine is asking readers and members of the public to nominate their Archive of the Year. If you feel that your local archive or study centre excels in the service it provides, let them know!
“The judging panel would like to hear about the service provided by the staff; the facilities in the search rooms; the accessibility and quality of the catalogue and finding aids; the range of services provided online, including access to digitised records; the range of documents available for consultation; connections with the local community; and facilities for disabled people.
“Nominations are restricted to UK county or municipal record offices; local study centres; specialist and regional archives; and university or library manuscript collections.
“The winner will be presented with the award at the Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE show in London next year.
“Make your nomination today at the Your Family History website.”
