Last month saw the launch of the new website and payment system.
ParishRegister.com says: “You’ll notice straight away that it has a fresh new look and layout. The shop and payment system are now more customer friendly, and the biggest change of all is the way you can get your search results!
“Previously, if you wanted to search for an ancestor, you had to choose from 100 different parishes to search, one at a time. This assumed you knew what parish you wanted to look in, and also the rough date you wanted to search. Furthermore, each time you found a result in a parish you had to make a one-off payment of £3.50.
“Now it is possible to search our entire database of baptism records all in one go and obtain the results for a one-off fee of £9.95, so if you find 10 relatives amongst our million or so baptism records, you are getting each record for under a pound! If you find 100 baptisms, then that’s about 10p each!
“At the other end of the scale you could pay a one-off lifetime membership fee of £99.95 and this will allow you access to our baptism records, our marriage records and our Merchant Taylor records whenever you want. We are constantly adding new records so you’ll be able to pop back anytime and check for new records. In between these two options is a monthly or yearly subscription, which both have the same benefits the lifetime membership offers.
“We recently added over 3,000 more St Mary Whitechapel baptism records to our database for the years 1708-1714, and soon we’ll be adding another similar amount.”
