Wiltshire and Swindon Archives (WSA) have begun charging £5 per testator for access to the digital images of those of its wills and inventories that are accessible online. So far, images for only about a quarter of its catalogue of wills 1540-1858 are available online, but WSA says it intends to increase the number substantially during 2009.
Access to the digital images (on DVD) will continue to be free of charge at Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham.
